Our all-ages History Tour explores the atmospheric landmarks of the Willow Court precinct, exploring the grounds of this almost 200-year-old historic site.
Step back in time and explore the rich and complex history of Willow Court as our guide will take you on a journey combining history and mystery to captivate your imagination as we delve into the pages of this iconic site.
Willow Court stands as a testament to the evolution of psychiatric care and the lives of those who lived and worked there.
It remains to be Australia’s oldest continually mental institution – still sitting on its original site in New Norfolk, a short 35minute drive from Hobart.
We will take you on a journey through the layered history as we discover the untold secrets left behind.

Our History Tour meeting point is at 11a The Avenue, New Norfolk.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Our History Tour is designed to be family-friendly and is suitable for children of all ages, however this tour may contain content and stories that some participants may find confronting, therefore parental guidance is advised.
This is a guided walking tour that includes a walk around some of the Willow Court site. Some access points may not be suitable for people with restricted mobility. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Tours operate in most weather conditions, so please come prepared. You must wear flat enclosed shoes. No heels or thongs are permitted. Guests will be notified via SMS or email if the tour is cancelled due to inclement weather.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled tour, to allow time to check in and move to your tour departure point. Unfortunately we cannot wait for latecomers.
All bookings are non-refundable or non-transferable and non–redeemable for cash. Please carefully review your tour, date and time before purchase.
